ROPES

oil on canvas board 5x7in
I was attracted by thoses nautical ropes, or lines. Apparently, it's not the right knot for mouring to a lug, and it is a strand rope, instead of a breided one, but I am not an expert-not yet!
Before starting to paint,I did not think  to spend such a long time on it, but it was a hard work.

What about a fresh drink?

P1010007
oil on canvas paper 7x10in

This was my last submission to ADNW, the blog of Lee Brown,a talented painter and photographer, living in Colorado.
The original picture was larger, I preferred to simplify the subject;  it showed a box of wine , it seemed to me it was from Médoc, which is just on the opposite side of the Gironde’s estuary, I nearly can see it from my garden;the “hic”, for me, was noticing the bottle just outside the box :it was a Chianti..
Anyway , of course,it was pleasant to paint this still life.

Pinky

oil on paper 5x7in
This was my last submission to Paint and draw Together. After the yellow tulips, a pink one.
While painting it, I thought this one looked like a rose.Lela proposed to invent a background, but the inspiration was missing, and the leaf is weird anyway; obviously I spent my time on the flower, so the rest remained neglected, I am afraid. But it was a good exercise.

from Porto to Zambujeira

This fisherman was fond of loneliness and calm, so I didn't disturb him.

After taking a car rental for 15 days in Porto, we spent 2 days in a B&Breakfast;near Nazare, at 100km to the North of Lisboa, the capital, then drove to Zambujeira do Mar, on the West coast, in Alentejo, a tiny fishing village, with only 2 small hotels, at a very low rate.I suppose, in winter it would be without a cat!
It was very hot, - hot, for me, means 25°-but the water seemed to be cold, so I did not ventured even a toe...

RENAULT 4CV

DSC_0016
oil on board 4x6in
“The Renault 4CV is a small French car built between 1946 and 1961. Intended by its creators to be a “people’s car”, it was inspired by the original Volkswagen Beetle and was the first French car to sell over 1 million units. Conceived during German occupation, the design team envisioned something suitable for the economically difficult years expected to follow the war”.
I finished painting this car   just on time for offering it to my son, for his birthday. He  is fond of cars even if I am not sure of his taste for this one; I had to struggle with all the small mandatory details. Now it is done!
