Bananas


OIL on canvas paper 9,5"x7,5"
It is my rendition for Rookie Painter challenge.It was the first  time I painted bananas, I didn't know it was so hard to find the right colour (at least for me!):I used naples yellow,yellow pale, ocher, burnt sienna, sepia.This last one was recommended to me  by Sabine,  our teacher at our workshop in Bordeaux.She restores the old paintings and likes it for several purposes:greys, in place of darks...I noticed there was a touch of green in it .
So, it was a good practice.

    That's great! I avoided this challenge because the composition was so difficult. You made that funny shaped bowl really work. Good job!
    You seem to like on line painting challenges... do you know about The Green Palette? Their blog posts a new subject to paint every week (on Thursday's).

    On my opinion, you managed the bananas very well, colors and tones are really good. I understand your concerns, I have so many subjects to paint "for the first time". Good luck!

    This has such lovely color relationships! I like the up close and personal cropping, too! I'd give my eye teeth to go back to Bordeaux to paint! :D
