From my window

oil on board 5"x7"

This week, the DPW challenge subject was to paint what we see from our place, so it was an opportunity to paint a small view of our garden.
We have been living here for 3 years and half, now, and it’s such a pleasure;it’s a small village, just in border  of a big river, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean, at 30mn drive. We cross the fingers not to be  flooded!Last year, during the storm  Xynthia, we were fortunately spared.I like to hear the waves, in the night, with the open window, it's soothing.

château Yquem

DSC_0007
gouache on strong paper 10"x7"

A small  quick gouache of the entrance of the Chateau d'Yquem, in Gironde, where the harvest just completed. It is said that it will be a good year, for Bordeaux wine, but maybe the 2009 will be better…

in Gironde

oil on board  10x12in T
his  landscape was painted during our total lack of internet - a whole week-(we have had storms here which  were supposed having cut the link).
It's a few miles from our house, I took several  pictures last October, just after the grapes harvest.
Its is so pleasant  to drive or walk  here, without getting bored,  there are so many little picturesque roads  between the vineyards , with lovely points of view !
