The girl with the blue bonnet

acrylic on Lanavanguard paper 8 x 12 1/2
I started this portrait for the Karin Jurick end-of-year-challenge with oil, but after a few unfortunate attempts, I decided to change to acrylic, to which I am more accustomed.
I enjoyed painting the face of this nice woman I don't know;I wanted to express the youthful air and the kindness in the eyes.I hope I suceeded.Yesterday, the painting was bolder (see the 1st picture),
(-no, finally, it was quite the same , and I supressed it from the screen to avoid the confusion, sorry) but I decided to tone it down;after, it was hard stoppping to add one colour, remove another one etc.It was a difficult subject, but a rewarding one.
By the way, Happy New Year, to you all!Happiness, Prosperity, Health to each one!

  1. Sylviane, cette peinture est tres belle. Specifiquement les yeux sont brilliantes et la sourire est tellement naturelle. Je suis sur que Andrea va l'adore.
