Before the storm

 oil on wood 9x5in

It was before the storm Xynthia, which blew in the night of last saturday. The little boat felt away.
It was the conjunction of a very strong tide and a heavy  wind (160km/h)which devastated especially the Vendee, 150 km further  on, where 50 poor people died at home, drawned.
We luckily were spared, having no water in our house, as some neighbours had.

  4. Wow. What a contrast the events are with the peace in the painting.

I am glad to know you are well.

  5. I like the composition with distinct simply defined masses of colour. The cabin, the waiting boat, the light, suggest happy hours to come.
