château Yquem

DSC_0007
gouache on strong paper 10"x7"

A small  quick gouache of the entrance of the Chateau d'Yquem, in Gironde, where the harvest just completed. It is said that it will be a good year, for Bordeaux wine, but maybe the 2009 will be better…

  1. Very nice vantage point, Sylviane. The archway invites the viewer into the painting. I had to google Chateau d'Yquem, to read about the wonderful history of the estate. Do you live in this region of France?

  2. Yes, I live in the same department, in southwestern France. All around us there are vineyards, producing wine from Bordeaux, more accurately thought of Côtes de Bourg and Côtes de Blaye.
    Thank's, Virginia!
