OIL ON BOARD 5"x7" |
Here, I painted this cityscape for
Studio notes , where Terry Miura asked us to use only 2 values at least at the beginning, ignore the details, choose one dominante color, avoid too numerous sharp edges.(This point was a little obscure for me).
I tried to follow this advice, chose french ultramarine as basic color.I had a black underpainting, as there was something else before.
Well done, Sylviane. I like the way you cropped and simplified this image. Very good perspective and distance, and the colors are very pleasing. I like what you did!
ReplyDeleteSuper ta toile ! Tu semble avoir destructuré les immeubles par rapport aux voitures, qui donne de de la profondeur avec une vision globale de la scène. Bravo !
ReplyDeleteI like this painting very much Sylviane. Your autos are very good and I like the dreamy quality. Nice painting.
ReplyDeleteI love this. It has such a nice feeling of going somewhere on a sunny day, from a car's perspective.
ReplyDeleteNice take on this challenge Sylviane. I like the uniformity of shapes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a useful 'exercise'! Nice going!
ReplyDeleteThank's very much, now I am not sure the black underpainting was a good thing...
ReplyDeleteLovely. That's a good approach to painting loose.
