This is the kind of sweet I loved, for example before catching a train, buying one at the railway's station, gare de l'est or Montparnasse, in Paris, for years and years..Being guilty each time, after, promising to myself it was the last time..
Now, I don't have a glance on those perfid things.Anyway, I don't often take the train ...!

Those 2 pears were painted for the new and interesting blog pintanddrawtogether running by Lela Stankovic, as April's challenge.I like painting ( and eating)pears, so I was glad for her choice, and the high quality of her picture.

his  landscape was painted during our total lack of internet - a whole week-(we have had storms here which  were supposed having cut the link).
It's a few miles from our house, I took several  pictures last October, just after the grapes harvest.
Its is so pleasant  to drive or walk  here, without getting bored,  there are so many little picturesque roads  between the vineyards , with lovely points of view !

Above is my entry for this month's A Day Not Wasted Painting Challenge,I had to struggle with the shades, but the  subject inerested me, I like the architecture..

Clarice Orsini?

There are several assumptions concerning the identity of this young woman (Simonetta Vespucci, Clarice Orsini, Fioretta Gorini etc.), but I am inclined to believe her to be Clarice Orsini. The picture was partly repainted,and  even the attribution to Botticcelli , in 1475,is disputed.
I enjoyed painting this portrait for its colours, ;it is a pity I was not brave enough to draw entirely her dress, which was elaborate and would have been an interesting challenge...Maybe it will be for another time

What about my new hairstyle?

It is my 2nd portrait for Following the Masters. This one is after Paolo Uccello, (1397-1475)“Portrait of a lady” , 1450.
I’ve had an interruption for more than a week with my Internet connection, which allowed me to try different new paintings.

Masaccio 1401-1429

This young man could have been Tommaso Masaccio himself; he died at a young age, 27.
He is considered a Quattrocento painter of the early Renaissance
Despite his brief career,he had a profound influence on other artists. He was one of the first to use scientific perspective in his painting, employing techniques such as vanishing point in art for the first time. He also moved away from the Gothic style and elaborate ornamentation of artists like Gentile da Fabriano to a more natural mode that employed perspective for greater realism.
This is the fist time I have painted with oils, I used to paint with water-mixable oil, or acrylic,and it is not the same thing at all!I  enjoyed so much playing with the colours !

Before the storm

It was before the storm Xynthia, which blew in the night of last saturday.The little boat felt away.

It was the conjunction of a very strong tide and a heavy  wind (160km/h)which devastated especially the Vendee, 150 km further  on, where 50 poor people died at home, drawned.

We luckily were spared, having no water in our house, as some neighbours had.

The 3 oranges

This is my submission for the first  challenge of Rookiepainter, a new blog to which I send good luck wishes.
The striking photo featured  3 oranges- we were told we could make changes , so I added a jug
Strangely, I was unable to paint from the original photo and had to use real oranges and jug.
I failed to obtain the jug’s celadon hue, and a touch too much Prussian blue turned it blue-which I found I liked.I’ll probably change  the picture on the upper right side, but to what colour?

Corsica

It is the path leading to Sainte Restitude’s beach , in the North of Corsica.
I’ve added this  hiker,to get the picture more lively.
