Viola Cornuta

DSC_0013 (800x586)
oil on canvas board 5"x7"

Those little shy flowers last the whole winter, you have to bent to see them in the grass I am going to cut very soon.
This painting, for once, was not made for a challenge, I suppose I need a change, and it’s one,  maybe,  the first time I used a painting knife, it was a start, and a nice experience.Usually I like the details, here I was obliged to leave them, regarding the small size of my painting.

Belle toile.
Ces petites fleurs me font toujours vibrer...

  3. So very pretty, and delicate. You did a fabulous job Sylviane, especially for a first time with a palette knife. Lovely painting - I love it.

  4. Excellent job, Sylviane! It's hard to believe this is your first time to use a palette knife. I like the dark shadows with the lovely green leaves in the light. Violas are one of my favorite spring flowers.

  5. Wonderful painting, Sylviane! Love the variety in the greens and how beautifully the pale blue flowers are set off by them.
