Nightcap

oil on board 5" X 7"
After dinner, before going to bed, I like to take a mint infusion (with a piece of mint chocolate) in this mug.The rubber strawberry bag contains herbs;I painted it for DPW challenge;we were asked to paint something with polka dots.I rummaged around to find something, I remember I used to have a polka dot blouse somewhere, but I am sure this mug was more simple to do!

Go!

OIL, 5,5"x 8,30"
I painted this cyclist for the challenge of DPW this week. The subject was on wheels. It was a rather precarious exercise, given the drawing of the tilted body, in short, but interesting.

After having plodded along for ages…

oil on board 8"x10"
It was painted for DPW challenge of this week.I wanted to do a quick painting, and, as often, I reworked, and reworked..
As I wanted to use several purples ( I am usually inclined to give this color to  my roads ) , I did a golden acrylic under painting.I changed a lot of times the trees in the background: at the beginning they were too strong, then too pale…I wanted to use a recipe with French ultramarine, violet, viridian, white, before noticing at the end that my green was not a viridian(which is an equal combination of blue and green), so the result was not what I expected.
My(other) bête noire was the tree in the foreground, I have to learn about those trees!
In  any case, I had fun to paint that.

Pinky

DSC_0017
oil on paper 5x7in
This was my last submission to Paint and draw Together. After the yellow tulips, a pink one.
While painting it, I thought this one looked like a rose.Lela proposed to invent a background, but the inspiration was missing, and the leaf is weird anyway; obviously I spent my time on the flower, so the rest remained neglected, I am afraid. But it was a good exercise.

oil on canvas paper
It is my 1st painting from my return from Portugal;I am not used to painting flowers.It was pleasant, and I had to rush, the deadline is the 17th may.It is for ROOKIE PAINTER;
Until now, I did not sign very much my paintings, my name, Sylviane Le Cann, being so long. So, I thought about this abreviation, Sylca, what about it?

DSFDF

oil on Yupo  6x8in 15x20cm
This is the portrait I’ve painted for DSFDFswap challenge.
The beginning was hard, I had as a support only a small picture.
After tries and tries, I reached a  point of reasonable satisfaction, and I am aware that I’ve learned a lot by persisting;; however I would have liked to improve it, to go on by looking for the very right expression.
But a few previous desatrous attempts taught me that it would be more prudent to  stop!So I did…
